About this deal

In the box you get a pair of upside down glasses, 32 cards (2 of which are super challenges), 1 symbol explanation card, an action cards explanation booklet, a 20 second sand timer, 32 cardboard blue chips, 4 yellow cardboard chips as well as the punch board they come in. To play the game though you will also need to gather a number of items from around your house including: 3 cardboard tubes (eg the middle of toilet rolls), a pen with a lid, plenty of paper, a teaspoon, 2 beakers/ cups, a bowl and some water. The premise: The ultimate movie game for movie buffs, using streamed clips of classic movies of all genres that can be played through your TV or tablet/phone device. Overall I think the #UpsideDown Challenge game is fun. The exercises are all challenging (although there are varying levels) and it encourages people to really focus to try to complete the challenges. There are only 32 games cards which gives you 90 possible drawings to draw and 34 action challenges of various levels. This isn’t many, but you can complete the same challenge multiple times and still find them difficult. At first glance, the Upside Down Challenge Game may seem like a very simple concept. All you need to do is draw a picture, or complete an easy task. Pretty straight forward, right? The game is said to be suitable for children from 7 years upwards, but we played with two 6 year olds who certainly had no problem understanding how to play. And we all found it hilarious! I particularly love the fact that there are different levels for different ages, meaning that everyone can play together and it is fair!

We definitely think that it is such a fun game for all ages, and a really unusual idea. It’s going to be perfect for playing at the caravan whilst we are away this summer. By the way: one of the few facts I remember from my Psychology degree is that if you wear glasses that invert your vision for long enough your brain will correct what you see to the normal way up. I am absolutely not suggesting you test this out though, especially as George M Stratton found it took about 4 days. The glasses that come with this game should only be worn for short periods and under adult supervision. The principle of the game is really quirky. Take your turn to complete a challenge indicated on a card wearing the pair of glasses included in the box. What is its particularity? It makes you see the world upside down, as if you were upside down. Imagine drawing a sheep or filling a glass with water. All sounds easy, but it's not so simple when all your benchmarks are upset. Lots of fun is guaranteed! Who is this Game for? This looks great fun, nice size box as most games come with boxes that are huge and oversized. Great idea and totally different to most other games. Instructions were in two separate books made it more difficult and English wasn’t the first language. Would’ve been easier to merge the instructions into one book. Once I explained what they had to do for each card they were happy to go along with it and found easy to play. They did find the tasks challenging and lots of laughing from both kids. Really did keep them entertained, especially the 7 year old who was winning at all the challenges! They became very competitive playing this game. Both boys loved trying to complete the challenges, even after the timer was up. This game was played with friends and family and lots of fun and giggles. We have played this game about 4 times now. My 7 year old loved the funny glasses. 11 year old loved attempting to draw the challenges. I loved that is kept the kids entertained for longer than 5 minutes. Age suitability was ideal. Definitely great game to play at Christmas. All ages could play the game as there is an easier option and a harder option on each card. Contents for the game good quality and love that it uses items which we always have in the house! Reasonable value but feel it would’ve been better if some additional “props” were included. The game is fab quality and hard wearing…..even after being bounced off the floor when a challenge was lost! We would buy this as fun game and totally different from the usual games. Would recommend for all the same reasons and because it is ideal for all ages. This is a fantastic game which is suitable for all ages thanks to the cards having options for those younger and older. Kids loved trying the different challenges! There aren’t many games which the two kids will happily play together but this is definitely one of their favourites. Jacqueline Southam – Corey and Brodie – 7 & 11 YearsThe game is aimed at children aged 7 and up, but my six year old was instantly captivated and able to follow the instructions even without my help. I would say that even a four or five year old could play this game under supervision. It is a good one for the whole family to play as although it takes some skill to master the upside down goggles, it isn’t necessarily easier for adults. What is the aim of the Upside Down Challenge Game? Non Stop Fun! - Get your family and friends together and create memories while playing fun, high quality and challenging games that everyone can enjoy. Perfect gift for birthdays or Christmas as it allows adults and kids to interact and bond over hours of laughter and stimulating activities. Games cater to all levels of knowledge and experience so everyone can have a turn and have a good time! Action cards - indicated by numbers 1 - 15. Each action card is explained in the accompanying booklet. If the player completes the challenge they get a point (or chip). It’s been a while since we did a full on game review, but this one was fun and the kids are currently obsessed with it, so here’s what you need to know about the Upside Down Challenge Game. What’s in the box? The winner is the first player to win 5 tokens! But once you get the special googles on and start trying the challenges, you will soon see that this sounds so much easier than it really is! What Do We Think Of The Game?

It’s played speedily and is really fun - although to get the most out of all the references you need to have watched Ted Lasso (in fact you should just do that anyway). But each simple task takes on a completely different level when you add the challenge of viewing everything upside down!Verdict: If as a parent you've been putting in the hours playing Orchard Games in the hope to indoctrinate your children in the joy of gaming then this is the ideal next step. Pull puzzle pieces from the bag and work to put them together to recreate six separate jigsaws. This is a palette cleanser game. If you join regular game nights this is basically what you play at the beginning while waiting for a takeaway to arrive or at the end when people aren’t quite ready to leave but aren’t ready to sit for another hour. To play, you will also need some other objects including toilet roll tubes and water (if you’re brave!) before the game starts, although if you don’t have these to hand you can skip these challenges. Who can play the #UpsideDownChallenge?

Starting with the youngest player you take a card from the pile and complete the challenge. The twist in this game is that when it is your turn you have to wear the special glasses which flip everything you see upside down and gives you a narrow field of vision. The one niggle with the absolute littlies? If one of your opponents is looking more worthy of a Hollywood handshake you can sabotage their chances of glory with action cards. This caused a few tears with the smallest gamers at the table, but were soon eased with a piece of snowman shaped shortbread.

Summing up I would say The #UpsideDown Challenge Game isn't for everyone and it isn't the easiest to get going with, but with the right players you can have a lot of laughs. The premise: Move over Syabira, there's a new star baker in town, courtesy of this fun and easy-to-learn card game. Verdict: For many of us the film of The Wizard of Oz is a Christmas staple and this beautifully designed and well-thought out co-operative board game could easily become another family festive tradition. Action and Drawing cards have an easy (marked with a feather) or hard (marked with a dumbbell) mode We love family games here at A Rose Tinted World and we are always looking for great games for 6 year olds. So we were delighted to be offered the chance to play this game and tell you all about it. What is the Upside Down Challenge Game All About?A couple of minor quibbles are that it would benefit with a licence for Disney films - although it was nice to see Despicable Me pop up - and while the suggested age is 13 we were considering playing this tweens slightly younger until a random (and slightly wince-inducing) clip from Candyman popped up for one of the questions. The Upside Down Challenge board game ranks in the category of action and skill games for 2 to 6 players. It brings together children from 7 years old, teenagers and adults around the same activity without anyone getting bored . The challenges to be met are simple and yet age is not necessarily an asset to help you better meet them. Everyone needs to be imaginative and confident to win. A good dose of concentration, adaptation and wit is welcome. Its two main strengths are the optical effect of reverse vision and its entertaining aspect. As it does not require any particular culture, it remains accessible to all. However, its contents should be kept away from children under 3 years old, as some small objects may present a risk of suffocation. What Comes in the Box? We especially loved: Because it’s divided into chapters it can be played over a few nights. We took it on a weekend away and played two chapters a night and it added a real sense of occasion to the game as well as making it feel more manageable for everyone. This is a worthy addition to the stable and, as big Star Wars geeks, is now our family's preferred flavour of the game. The addition of both original trilogy classic characters as well as ‘new’ villains like Kylo Ren and The Clone Wars’ Asajj Ventress meant it was popular with both the younger and older players at the table. The premise: Fulfil your destiny and become an iconic Star Wars Villain by thwarting the pesky rebels and taking over the galaxy.
