About this deal

Originally released in 2004, MGMT's debut became a much needed eclectic pop force, yielding 4 singles including the smash 'Time To Pretend'. And pyramid shaped pictures in the albums artwork only work for big selling bands who have sold out to the illuminati anyway. I always trust my ears over "remastered from the analog tapes blah blah blah" For all we know, it was remastered from the tapes, cut to digital, and then cut to vinyl.

Concernant la critique de l'album, je suis assez en désaccord avec la majorité de ce qu'on peut trouver ici. This is an idea that will split people into those who think it's a muggy and terrible idea and others who think it's a brilliant idea. even if some of the sounds and vocals, like on "Electric Feel," take considerable cues from the likes of the Bee Gees and The Doors. The vinyl mix is supposedly "enhanced," however, on certain songs, like "Kids" (last song on Side 1), the bass is pounding away, and it sounds a little distorted, and the vocals are fuzzy-sounding. The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If this was a vinyl release I would say side one is excellent, starting with "Alien Days" (check out the nightmarish video on YouTube).

There is a complexity to MGMT's music that is rare and welcomed in today's formulaic, cookie cutter music factory offerings of pop culture. It gave the world evergreen hits such as "Kids", "Electric Feel" and "Time to Pretend" which have inspired, and continue to inspire new generations of artists and music fans alike to this day - those three songs combined have been streamed over 2 billion times on audio streaming platforms since released. MGMT est un album de questionnement, de doute, et de voyages intérieurs (c'est peut-être pour ça que le groupe a repris la chanson "Introspection").

As Flaming Lips fans know, with David Fridmann as producer compression is unavoidable, even on vinyl. Catchy tracks that combine late 70s/early 80s neo-psychedelic music with modern pop and dance tracks make for a consistent set of tracks, with great meaningful lyrics (something that seems to be lacking elsewhere in today's music), great instrument playing (with solos and extended instrumental sections reminiscent of early Pink Floyd - Of Moons, Birds and Monsters is a stand out track on this front) and a few popular tracks to make it still appeal to the masses. The panning from left to right sounded not only better in clarity, but did a better job at creating the effect.Congratulations' is a collection of nine individual musical tours de force sequenced to flow with sonic and thematic coherence.
