About this deal

I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Lily works out that the locket is half of an encoded map showing the location of the Blood Moon Diamond. I was surprised to find that this story centred more around Robert, his family and their past, for some reason I assumed the story of the actual cogheart would be continued on in this series format, and this change pleasantly surprised me. Peter Bunzl has once again created a world that sucks you into the steampunk streets, skies and sewers of Victorian England, routing for Lily and Robert against a criminal mastermind who can only be described as evil.Overall I consider this a thrilling adventure which is likely to be hugely enjoyed by anyone of nine and above. These books are meant for children, and I so wish I could have read them as a child because everything would have been even more thrilling; I cannot wait for the next adventure. In conclusion, this is a whimsical middle-grade book with wonderful characters and a nice story set in steampunk London. One other rather small complaint I have is that Lily and her papa's conflicts weren't very satisfactorily resolved, but I am quite very happy with how things turned out for Robert- elaborating on this would prove to be very spoiler-y indeed, so I'll hold back here. Moonlocket is packed full of mystery, mayhem and mechanicals in a gripping adventure with family and friendship at it's heart.

Peter grew up in South London in a rambling Victorian house with three cats, two dogs, one sister, an antique-dealer dad and an artist mum.

The Victorians loved stories that featured lockets and lost identities - did this help you form some of your ideas for Moonlocket? Lily has a mechanical heart and this leads to inner conflict as she tries to determine whether she is human or not whilst subconsciously questioning what defines human. In this book, we follow Lily and Robert as they make their way through a steampunk London to catch the escapologist Jack Door while also learning about friendship and family. I only post positive reviews, if I don't like a book or cannot imagine it being one that I would recommend to a readership group whose interests differ from my own, I don't post a review. There were a few lines in this book that really hit my heart; "They think I'm not as clever or capable as them because of who I am.

What’s more, beneath all the action are some profound and moving reflections by Lily and Robert on the meaning of family and its importance to them. Peter grew up in London in a rambling Victorian house with 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 little sister, an antique dealer dad and an artist mum. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Jolly Fish Press, and the author via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This time the focus is more on Robert, who finds a mysterious moonlocket and has to find out what the link is with his mother and the rest of his family.A prisoner who goes by Jack of Diamonds is on the loose and hunting to find his rare diamond he lost and the moonlocket.
