More For a collector, or a casual dabbler looking for a little adult-orientated LEGO fun, I could recommend it. This used the 1×2 grille tiles to add a little more detail but the scale was about the same as what was used on the original set. The piece count of just the outer shell was starting to push 10000 pieces and I hadn’t even worked on the inner core. LEGO had previously released a much smaller stand-alone version (set 21002) which was just 7-8 inches tall and devoid of any details (I personally find it to be one of the most disappointing sets in the Architecture series). This is very similar to most of the large Architectural models designed by artists like Spencer and Rocco. She built it all by herself which is quite an accomplishment for an 8 year old (especially given all the complex SNOT techniques that this set uses).

This 360°-displayable model features 4 highly detailed facades, a silver-coloured antenna tower and a tiled baseplate depicting Fifth Avenue and the surrounding roads, complete with 6 yellow cabs. It’s a realistic build and I think it will make a great display piece in a future brick cave for me. The overall design of this kit is quite good, there’s a nice amount of LED’s which highlight the best parts of the building, and the wires are well hidden. I wish Lego would design more buildings emphasising more artistry in architectural styles — like your book did.
