I always thought the sound of both the initial CD version and the remastered CD version were much to dense and compressed, surely owed to the very "fat" multi-track production. Incidentally, here’s something interesting to consider; when Achtung Baby was reissued in 2011 there was no vinyl version available separately.This time around there is a 2LP black vinyl edition of the album which comes with an eight-page booklet and a poster. Produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, and recorded between Berlin’s Hansa Studios and various locations in Dublin, Achtung Baby was released to huge critical acclaim in 1991. The album is pressed on dark, well centered and quiet black vinyl which I’m assuming is a 180-grams thick.

The two discs of content ‘missing’ from both 2011 box sets that are missing from this 2011 digital box are Zooropa and Kindergarten — The Alternative Achtung Baby.Celebrating the 30th anniversary of U2’s Achtung Baby , November 2021 sees the release of limited edition vinyl format of the Grammy-award winning album. That said it’s surprising how good this pressing is given it’s close to an hour in total and record companies in the early nineties gave little love to vinyl releases. When I’ve listened on the streams and the CD, by the time I get to the second half of the album my ears and mind are a bit digitally exhausted. Near the Island" a nice little instrumental which has a real Edge/Eno (even though Eno isn't credited) feel to it.
