While not much is known about their friendship, they did work on the Radiant Week project together so it is assumed they are friends as they both love animation. Her parents are Rainbow High Alumni, though they have never been seen or more then slightly mentioned.Sunny and Poppy hit off their friendship nearly instantly, with Poppy being the one to cheer her up after learning about her dorm. After they get to know each other, they both become very close friends that often hang out both together and with their fellow roommate. The two are seen together frequently, showcasing their good friendship.

While she was initially unsure of Amaya, due to her being Bella's replacement, Poppy grew to appreciate Amaya as part of her runway group. That being said, they do not interact one on one much.Sunny loves escape rooms, so much so that her 10th, 11th, and 13th birthday parties were all in escape rooms.
