About this deal

SHATTERED LAND is an alternate history mod for Hearts of Iron IV, which brings the chaotic and turbulent events of Indian independence and partition right into the middle of World War 2. Unleash your imagination into a vast, savage world, sun-scorched and wind-scraped. This series contains the radiant classics, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands, and Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager.

The one error i have made when reading this book is reading it now. i don’t think i can wait an undecided amount of time for book two with that ending. i’m going to be ripping my hair follicles out by the time it is released. i cannot wait to see where this story goes next. A West Marches style campaign is a very specific style of game that involves several DMs and many players all playing the same world. Instead of a regular long running game with the same regular play day, games are put together by different groups of players on different days as they decide to play. The story is less structured, and often built in such a way that the main content is exploring some form of wilderness outside of a hub town that all the players call home. This is how it works in this game, with the D&D sessions involving going out into the wilderness around the safe area, while being able to RP freely in town in between these sessions. What are the shattered lands The book Is not as spicy as it was made out to be, but I can understand as I feel it was made out to a younger audience; however, there we a lot of kinks. So this book did take me Ten days to read which isn't too bad. I don't think this book is a bad book, but I also don't think it's the best. Recruit champions of Athas to your cause from various races and classes, including Gladiators, Psionicists and RangersThis book questions ruling legacies and the where the stories we are told come from. There is plenty of political conflict and intrigue, a cast of side characters that really round out the story, and an enemies to lovers romance to *die* for. The Plague consumes everything it touches, leaving its mark in the form of Corruption. Alterborn gameplay systems are all inherently dualistic, enforcing the player fantasy of being slowly but steadily corrupted by an unnatural force. You can choose to combat the Plague by cleansing the world around you or pursue its power by corrupting your gear, upgrading your Phantom Form and more. Variations of "like a child" to describe how Sapphire feels she's reacting to something came up at least 14 times. Sometimes it was used twice in a chapter. I get that maybe it's meant to show that she's barely not a child but the author could've done that in a way that shows us such. The Dark Sun world of Athas is arid and bleak, a wasteland with a handful of cities ruled by thousand-year-old sorcerer-kings. Your party begins as slaves in the city of Draj, destined to die as gladiators in the Arena. You must find a way to escape into the hostile wilderness, join with other escaped slaves and create a rebel force powerful enough to destroy the evil sorcerer-king's army.

Ashes, a young, redheaded Shadow Witch, finds the new princess constantly in her shadows. While being unable to reveal the answers to Sapphire’s questions, she tries to guide the young princess in any way she can. The ultimate question reminds, did she do it for her own gain or does she really have feelings for the long lost princess. She’s strong willed, impulsive, curious and loyal. What I loved about Sapphire are her questions and anxieties match the readers as the story unfolds, I didn’t find her naïveté annoying or frustrating like I often do with FMC’s blind to their situation. She’s anxious but there is depth and realness to her emotions that felt believable to me. Appropriately so, Sapphire doesn’t trust everything she’s told and there are lots of twists and turns in Eriobis.

My biggest issue with this book is that each character motivation seemed very flimsy based on what we knew about them. Many of the motives felt author led, instead of organic. a b Olafson, Peter (January 1994). " Dark Sun: Shattered Sun". Electronic Entertainment (1): 94, 95. This West Marches will run off Storymaker’s Expand&d system for the most part, a well thought out system that we’ve found the best way to really give everyone a chance at the table, while still being D&D at its core. The British colony of Burma is plentiful in natural resources. As colonial administrators expand infrastructure within Burma and bring in additional labour from India to exploit Burma's natural wealth, it seems unlikley that the local Burmese will stand by idly.

Sapphire is moments away from her 18th birthday. Despite all the joy that should be surrounding such an important birthday, she cannot help but to feel anxious for her visions to return that night. This time, however, instead of waking up in her bed, she is found in a completely new world. Once dragged to the king and queen, she learns she is their long lost daughter and the heir to the kingdom. Overwhelmed with all the changes and conflicted about the young girls she left behind, Sapphire dove right in to learning as much about this new world as she could. While learning how to be a princess, how to control her new found magic, and faced with doubts around every turn, Sapphire finds a safe haven in the last place she expected. On her eighteenth birthday Sapphire is transported to a different world where they tell her that she is the lost princess, who disappeared eighteen years prior. Sapphire is thrown right into the kingdom that seems to be full of secrets that nobody is talking about. While trying to discover more about the kingdom that she will one day inherit, Sapphire keeps running into the alluringly beautiful but dangerous witch Ashes. Sapphire and Ashes are at the centre of a history of secrets, political intrigue and a teetering power balance between the dark witches and elementals. I was soo close to DNF’ing this one, except I have this stupid thing where I have to finish what I start. So, regardless of how much I didn’t enjoy this book and want to throw it out the window – I had to finish it. One good thing is that you easily connect and understand the characters and bond with them. There's not much more to say about the book.

She is soon accosted and taken to the Queen and King where her true lineage is discovered - she is the lost princess of Eriobis. Sapphire finds herself in Eriobis with a crown, a castle and too many handmaidens to count. And so her life begins as the heir to the throne of a country she doesn't understand - a country ruled by magic and secrets. Ashes and Sapphire is a super well written enemies to lovers and “touch her and I’ll hurt you” type vibe. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review! On the surface it’s everything I wanted from a sapphic YA book. The quotes shared seemed well written as did the general tone of the story.Even as the Two Nation theory leads to the formation of Pakistan as the homeland of all Muslims across the subcontinent, will Bengalis get justice in East Pakistan? Will they be able to live in solidarity with fellow Muslims? Or will they just be replacing one colonial master with another? What identity do the people seek ... one based on land, faith, or language? The Retrofeed Discord server has been a wonderful home to many ED&D and other rpg games. It played host to Windrest two years prior, and now it will be home to Argonath as well. Even if you don’t join the game, it’s a great place to hang out and explore rpgs together. the premise of this book is one of my favourites: princess x witch enemies to lovers, and while in this book the romance is definitely not the focal point of the story, the parts with the romance absolutely shine. I believe the copy I have is a finished copy which is why I have brought up the grammar/repetition as an issue.
