After his encounter with the TITAN-infused thug, Bane launched a crusade against the existence of the TITAN drug, and devoted himself to the eradication of the compound. However, Bane soon decided that it was best to use the TITAN to enhance his own strength instead. Realizing that he couldn't do it alone, Bane signaled Batman with a flare and lured him into the abandoned Krank Co. Toy Factory at Amusement Mile in the flooded section of Arkham City. There, Bane alerted Batman to the twelve TITAN containers remaining within Arkham City. Joker to Batman for the reason for why he planned the riot of Arkham Asylum before he mutated into his Titan form. While the teaser cuts away, seemingly ending that thread, it does feature another brief shot of a figure standing over Robin, beating him with a crowbar. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment but it’s one capable of chilling every viewer, especially those who know that The Joker notoriously beat Jason Todd to death with a crowbar in the 1988 Batman: A Death in the Family arc – killing him off before his eventual return as Red Hood. The cure was in turn stolen from Harley by Talia al Ghul, which prompted Joker to kill her for it, and the cure then wound up in the hands of Clayface. When Batman defeated Clayface and took the cure, he managed to cure himself just before Joker, who believed that Batman would never give him the cure, stabbed him in the arm in an attempt to get at it. This prompted Batman to drop the vial, where it smashed on the floor.

Batman tested Henry constantly to see what was allowing him to resist Joker's influence; however, he didn't keep his promise that detaining him would only last a few days. By the time Batman brought Gordon in on this experiment, Henry was begging for help in being released; however, Gordon sided with Batman. Intimidation: Joker has an infamous reputation for being a terrifying psychopathic murderer, to the point where the godly Wonder Woman fears what he is capable of. There was a long-run rumor before Arkham City was released that said that Penguin would use the TITAN in the game, but it was proven to be false. However, Penguin did have a single TITAN enhanced henchman.

The first time Batman became truly aware of his infection was in Batman: Arkham VR, since it turned out all the events that took place were part of a nightmare in which he was unknowingly responsible for the deaths of Nightwing and Robin along with blowing up the Iceberg Lounge while imitating Joker. While Bane was able to defeat Penguin's TITAN Henchman, he was forced to retreat by Solomon Grundy. A predecessor compound was introduced in this game. Bane had been trying to destroy Venom to eliminate his greatest weakness, but gravitated more to Project TN-1; he hoped to create a compound that will replace Venom's addictive properties and give a permeant transformation. However, the result was a muscule-bound brute with permeant memory damage. The full potency of the drug would take effect in 10 minutes, leaving a small window of vulnerability.
