About this deal

I am sorry to hear your watch is not holding a charge. Unfortunately, like most batteries, the watch battery has a limited life span, and they are not replaceable. Bushnell on the other hand doesn't give you this option, with the watch specifically designed for golf and golf only. Despite it telling the time, the styling is such that you probably wouldn't want to wear it off the course whereas the Garmin gives you more reasons to, including the more modern screen and overall look and feel. Value GREENVIEW WITH MOVABLE PIN PLACEMENT- Cycle through the different pin locations and select to get a more precise distance to the flag. Arguably, the most important aspect of any golf watch is how easy it is to use. There's nothing more frustrating than waiting on the first hole and not being able to link up your watch to the correct course and tee. Thankfully, the Garmin S12 doesn't have such issues, with the watch ranked amongst one of the best Garmin watches on the market. At the start, we didn't have problems locating the course on arrival, with the correct yardages appearing on the screen within a minute or two of beginning the setup.

The Garmin has a Big-Numbers mode which, coupled with the sunlight-readable dial, is great for those whose eyesight maybe isn’t what it once was. Although the Bushnell's battery life is only a respectable 15 hours versus the S12's 30 hours and comes pre-loaded with 38,000 courses versus the Garmin's 42,000. But we liked having the ability to move the pin position on the green for a more precise distance and you have the ability to input scores and some basic stats, such as fairways and greens hit. Buying the ION Edge also gives you access to Bushnell's excellent GPS app, which provides 3D hole flyovers and the ability to add in stats about your play, enhancing the value for money. Do not use solvents (Acetone, paint thinners, nail polish remover, etc.) as they can degrade the plastic case of the watch and damage the internal seals. Getting accurate yardages is the holy grail for golfers, and it's now do-able straight from the wrist. But there's a decision to make if you're thinking of buying a golf watch: invest in a dedicated golf watch – or buy a smartwatch with GPS (and an App Store), such as the Apple Watch SE or Galaxy Watch 4.Sync your runs or bike rides using the fitness data function on your Bushnell Excel GPS Golf Watch to closely evaluate average speed, pace and distance. A: For music, the Wingman’s "True Wireless Sound" (TWS) technology enables you to use two Wingman speakers paired via Bluetooth to create a wireless dualchannel system, delivering true stereo sound. Note: a single Wingman provides mono audio, internally mixing together left and right channels of the streamed audio source. The ION Edge is a straightforward, easy to digest watch which does everything you’d need it to do out on the golf course as well as a couple of handy extra features such as the pin mapping and scorecard. The Bushnell was also easy to set up. There is one button on the side, which we correctly figured would boot it up. From there, one swipe to the right gives you the option to begin your satellite search for the correct course. Bushnell are known across the golfing world for being one of the biggest names on the market when it comes to Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs), so every time they announce a new product we know it’s going to be worth a closer look.

The GreenView technology is a clever addition, allowing you to pinpoint exactly where the flag is on the green so that you can get a more precise distance. This could be useful on new golf courses where you aren’t as familiar with the greens, or on big greens where you really want to be specific with your yardages. But it falls down in a couple of key areas, including the clunky touchscreen and slightly awkward setup process.Perhaps my expectations were extra-high because Bushnell are usually so reliable with the quality of their products, but at least they have gone out and tried something new with the touchscreen controls and I’m sure that it’ll be improved next time. A: The LRF can be used to measure distance in yards or meters. The unit measure indicators are located in the lower right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters on your... Company number: 1394141; Registered office: Media House, Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, Peterborough PE2 6EA and H Bauer Publishing, It's Garmin's top golf watch, and has boosted screen size to 1.3-inch, which helps take advantage of data screens such as detailed green mapping and Hazard View. It's not totally bereft of features. You get a shot measuring tool, scoring on the wrist, a more rudimentary green view. It will also pair up with the CT10 to log your shots, and has 30 hours of battery life.

There is certainly a lot to like about both. The iON watch from Bushnell is designed for those who want to solely focus on their golf, at a price that won't break the bank. However, if you are perhaps a bit more tech savvy, e.g. you use your phone often, then the Garmin is going to be more useful in your life. Both however offer superb value for money and will provide you the basics you need on the course for a very reasonable price. Which One Should You Choose Pro XE: To select between yards and meters, press and hold the Mode button which is next to the Power button. Press the Power/Fire button to confirm your units preference and exit the Settings menu. The Pro Xe will return to the last unit of measure setting used each time the unit is turned on. It also works even if your angle changes thanks to Dynamic Green Mapping, for example if you happen to end up on another fairway, it tells you the same yardages from the angle that you are approaching. While Tag Heuer launched two sizes of its Calibre E4, the Golf Edition will only be available in the larger 45mm case.

The watch itself is also lightweight and compact, a big improvement on previous Bushnell GPS watches which have been a little chunky, which means that it is unobtrusive on the course whilst playing. Overall, the ION Edge just doesn’t quite live up to the usual standards I’d expect from Bushnell with the likes of their Tour V5 Shift laser, with the brand even branching into launch monitors in the US in the near future. Some golfers will love getting their hands on all this data – and you certainly pay for the privilege. As regular golfers ourselves, the Approach S62 simply offers too much for too much cash, but if you want the best there's little out there to match it. Their new ION Edge GPS Watch is Bushnell’s answer to golfers wanting high-quality wearable DMDs which are easy to use. We’ve taken it out on to the golf course to find out how it performs… The Tech As well as distances to the pin and hazards automatic shot detection, measurement of shots and the ability to tag clubs used means it's capable of providing loads of analysis about your game – if you put the work in to log every shot.
