He also creeped Ella the hell out, especially when she caught him repeatedly staring at her the way he'd been doing all evening. She'd thought he left with the other guests. She'd thought she could relax. Every once in awhile you take a chance on a new author and that author goes on to show why we should never dismiss people stepping into the world of writing. For me, Dakota Willink is such an author. Her debut novel, Heart of Stone, is a book that showed me that new authors can be as equally talented writers and informative narrators as the more experienced authors we know and trust. She also didn't doubt he was surprised to have his incipient lie about being the injured party in any circumstances involving her burst like an overinflated party balloon. She could practically see his desire to scratch the itch caused by her refusal to cooperate with him, and Bea's untimely interruption.

Hard As Stone tells us Ethan and Summer’s love story. Ethan is the son of Nina and Tristan Stone. You can know Nina and Tristan if you’ve read the other books in the Heart of Stone series. I love that couple and their love story. I was happy when the author announced that the next generation would get their own books. Hard As Stone was a great book! Lots of emotions and drama as the story unfolds again and again over the series of books. I liked the main characters Stone and Eve as their relationship progresses and changes. Good, clean Christian fiction series-highly recommend!Set in Stone: Continues to drive the narrative with supporting character's own secrets tangled in the narrative. Plenty of intrigue, mystery, & suspense in a new world that could be ripped apart in a heartbeat. Closure ends with a HEA that perfectly ties all things together. He wasn’t supposed to be there when I fell. I wasn’t supposed to get lost in a sea of sapphire blue when he helped me up. And he wasn’t supposed to be Alexander Stone, the New York billionaire real estate tycoon. Although this book is reminiscent of others currently on the market, the writing style makes it an altogether refreshing change. There is a developing story which made me warm to the main characters immediately and with their connection came a special story which underpinned the essence of the book. Pulses of restless energy battered at her weakened barriers, but she refused to let them overwhelm her. If they did, not only would she be unable to fend off Stanley's advances, but she'd also find herself barely able to function for days, if not weeks, to come. Highly recommend if you enjoy time-traveling detective stories with high stakes, action and a love that spans decades.

Words can not express how truly excited I was when I learned the Heart of Stone series was continuing on with the triplets. And the first book to continue on with is the beloved only son? SIGN. ME. UP. Ethan looks like his handsome dad, but his work ethic? Well as long as it involved beautiful models, he's good to go. He's a playboy, with no intention of settling down. Until he meets Summer. Lines blur, feelings erupt and what we are left with is an epic love story fit for a Stone. Rembrandt's look and associates may have changed, but his primary goal has not: to use the time-travel watch to regain his old life, the life where Eve was his wife and Ashley his little girl. He's still hoping that they are not lost to him forever. But his hopes have taken a beating; his efforts, thus far, have been fruitless. Yet he tries, over and over. If his own personal efforts (well, and also the knowledge he's gained about events in all his trips across the space-time continuum) can't regain him the life he has lost, what will? Setting herself apart from other writers in her field, she really does have a unique voice that stands out from the rest. This idiosyncratic style of hers has allowed her to make some innovative and creative interpretations of the romantic genre format. Using this approach, readers are left not quite knowing what to expect from her and her work, giving it a really distinctive perspective. Leading the way with her character-driven stories, she pushes the boundaries at every chance she can get, making her work extremely exciting.I do not want to give too much, hence, I would get into Spoiler territory. I cannot wait to read the second and third installment of this novel. Dakota Willink I feel has a promising career in writing. First impression is lasting impression and the novel and her writing did just that. Congrats Dakota Willink. Awesome read!!! Can't wait for the next book.
