About this deal

SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT - This tent is insanely light at only 1460 grams - including pegs and poles!! At the same time it has better waterproofing and is more snow resistant than it's cousins in orange and green. If you go for the upgraded version, you’ll have a second vent in the sleeping compartment, which will reduce condensation and cool down your tent in the summer. The majority of tents on the market right now are either eye-wateringly expensive expedition tents or cheap junk that will leak and rip in no time. Caution: Attempt to cook in this area only if you have a small stove that is nice and stable on flat ground and you’ ve opened both the side panels for ventilation and escape routes. Never leave a stove unattended in this area! When it comes to weight, price and quality, you really can’t do much better than the Naturehike Cloud Up 2. However, the tent is definitely cramped inside. If you want something roomier but which is still this light, then get the Cloud Up 3P– or be prepared to spend a lot more.

This tent has an enormous porch area, big enough to store bicycles. This can be such a relief if you’re bike touring because you can hide your precious gear out of sight, as well as keep it dry, thereby preventing rust or water damage. The Naturehike Cloud Up is a freestanding 2-layer tent meant for 3-season use. It is available in 1P, 2P and 3P sizes. At 2.6 kg, this tent is a little heavy for hiking. It’ll be fine for weekend trips but it’s not the best choice for long-distance thru-hiking. It would certainly be a fantastic choice for bike touring, though it’d be a good idea to share the tent weight with the person you’ll be sleeping next to. The ventilation is a bit limited, and I would prefer to see a second vent to keep the interior nice and cool in the summer months. One solution is to pitch in the direction of the breeze, or you could take down your tent during the hottest part of the day to prevent heat from building up in the sleeping compartment. Design with snow skirt: It can make the tent comfortable when hiking in winter since it makes the tent more windproof, snowproof and tearproof, therefore it strengthens tent's stability and safety.

What is Naturehike?

The Cloud Up 2 is a slightly larger version of the Cloud Up 1. Officially, it’s a two-person tent, but it would be better for one person who wants more space to spread out or an adult and a child.

Just be cautious before use in extended downpours, and make sure to spray the tent with an extra waterproof coating on a regular basis. The ventilation is a bit limited in this tent, with just a single vent in the sleeping compartment. I also don’t like the fact that the vestibule is so small, as it’s a lot less comfortable to sleep alongside your kit.An even bigger version of the Cloud Up 2, the Cloud Up 3 is the first version of this tent that I would recommend for two people sharing. It has only a single door and vestibule but the additional floor space means that you can bring some of your kit into the tent with you. Green. Again, various shades of green seem to be available, some of which look remarkably alike. The same thing we said earlier applies here too – your best bet is to just choose the colour you like the look of and ignore the random naming. That said, you have to bear in mind that low-budget gear won’t be the best for extreme conditions, and it’s not reasonable to expect it to perform as well as top-of-the-range expedition gear. The rainfly is coated only to 2000mm, which is half the water-resistance of the Taga 2. The Vik 1 is lighter than the Taga 2, though, and is a much better option for a solo camper.

The overall sentiment about the Cloud Up 1 is that it’s a high-quality and reliable shelter for outdoor adventures. The newer version of the Cloud Up 2 tent has a vent to help reduce condensation. My older version does not have this vent. Despite this, condensation isn’t too bad of an issue in the tent because there is a sizable gap between the fly and inner tent. The upgraded version has fixed many small issues with the first version, making this a really comfortable and reliable tent. I’d absolutely recommend it for two people, and you’ll have enough space to bring along your dog, too. So, what’s the verdict after our first look at the Naturehike Cloud Up Tent? We went into this expecting to find a perhaps slightly lower quality (given the price) version of the Big Agnes Fly Creek. But to be honest, the quality of craftsmanship looks very impressive. I would say almost comparable to the Fly Creek itself.

I have yet to use the Cloud Up 2 in or on top of snow. However, I have slept in it multiple times in sub-freezing weather. The fly goes down low enough that you don’t feel wind. Condensation definitely forms on the fly, but I never had any issues with it dripping on me. Condensation is the build-up of moisture inside your tent due to differences between the inside and outside temperatures. There are three main sources: As with all tents, you will need to regularly treat your tent with a waterproof coating; otherwise, it will start to leak over time. The seams are not sealed, which can increase the risk of leaking in extended lousy weather. This is a shame in a tent of this price but due to the exceptional design, I’d still recommend it for cyclists.I love that this tent makes exploring the outdoors more affordable. It just goes to show that you don’t need to be super rich or have the most expensive kit to get out into nature. As you’d expect with an ultralight tent, the Cloud Up 2 material is really thin. Mine hasn’t punctured or ripped yet, but I’m always very careful about clearing the pitch space of sharps before setting it up. And definitely use the ground sheet with the Cloud Up 2! The lightweight stakes included with the Cloud Up 2 are decent enough, but did eventually bend over time.
