About this deal

The Catch , my fourth book, tells the story of a father who becomes convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets. It has also been made into a four-part TV drama currently on Netflix and starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton. If you've been wondering - where was The Catch filmed? - you now know the answer. Though the Channel 5 drama isn't actually set in Ireland and neither is the book... The Catch show vs book location The characters in this novel are realistic and appealing - all have their flaws, vulnerabilities and likeable points. I found 'The Catch' to have an orginal plot (even in the world of thrillers!) and to be well-paced.

I am a great fan of T.M. Logan having read Lies, The Holiday and I was equally thrilled with The Catch. I loved everything about this book - the story-line, the characters and all of the many twists and turns.

This book was gripping from the very beginning. I loved not being sure about who was to be believed in this book. Was Ed being an overprotective father? Were Ed's instincts, right? This was all part of the fun of the book for me. With the days to the wedding counting down, Ed is on a nonstop mission to find the truth! THE CATCH, Tim’s thrillers have sold more than two million copies in the UK and are published in translation in 22 other countries including Italy, Spain, Sweden, Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Greece, South Korea, Romania and the Netherlands. The Catch delivers the best kind of suspense thriller entertainment as Logan plays with our perceptions and tugs on our inner fears in this unsettling, twisting, turning journey through the fraught and complex landscape of our principal narrator Ed's troubled mind * NW Newspapers Syndication *

Ed Collier is reeling from the news: his 23-year-old daughter, Abbie, is marrying her boyfriend of just seven months. While Claire, Ed’s wife, is bubbling with happiness, Ed is wary. Ryan is almost a decade older than Abbie, and most of the relationship has been long distance. As much as Ed loves Abbie, he doesn’t understand why there’s this need to jump into a marriage. Ryan is perfect, handsome, intelligent, debonair and even plays his guitar to the very ill at his local hospice in his spare time The characters had no personality. Ed's concern came across as overbearing and paranoid. There were hints that perhaps he had a shady side but that was never followed up on. Claire pooh-poohed everything he said while Abbie either gushed about Ryan or got upset with Ed.

In 'The Catch', Ed senses something dangerous about his soon-to-be son-in-law Ryan during their first meeting. His wife Claire and daughter Abbie won't hear of it as he's never approved of her exes. However, he's determined not to let her walk down the aisle, even if it means taking risks and going down the dark road.. It is a countdown to the wedding and Ed is determined to make sure his daughter, Abby, is getting "the catch" she thinks she is!!

Executive producer Rachel Gesua added: “We’re over the moon to be bringing T.M. Logan’s edge of your seat domestic thriller to screen, which will take our audience on a rollercoaster ride of loyalties to our main character Ed, when his life begins to fall apart following the arrival of his daughter’s new boyfriend, Ryan. Bestselling author TM Logan was a national newspaper journalist before turning to novel-writing full time. His thrillers have sold more than two million copies in the UK and are published in translation in 22 countries around the world including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Greece, Romania and the Netherlands. And Abbie and Ryan are ready to jump. Their intention to get married in six weeks reeks of suspicion. Abbie says they’re rushing because she wants to make sure her grandmother can attend. Ed’s mother-in-law has received a terminal diagnosis, and Abbie is close to her Nana Joyce. Apparently Ryan suggested it would be better to have the wedding sooner rather than later, and Claire and Joyce are both touched by the gesture. I’ve read several books by this author but this was the first time I tried the audio version and the narrator did a fabulous job. Even though I think multiple narrators would have given it a just a bit more flash. But that’s just me!💁🏻‍♀️This father of the bride has some bad vibes about his 23 year old daughter's fiance, Ryan. He starts "googling" on Ryan because he just can't shake the feeling. When he looks at Ryan, his eyes are like "points of darkness". Put his job on the line just based on his gut instinct. Here's a tip: hire someone else from the get-go so that you can keep your job, get the dirt on Ryan and not attract the wrong attention.

If you’re eager to dive into The Catch whether you’ve read T.M. Logan's 2020 book or not then the place to head is Channel 5. The drama is split into 4 episodes, each an hour long, and airs every Wednesday at 9pm on Channel 5 starting from January 25, with episodes made available to stream afterwards on My5. T.M. Logan's best yet. Fully delivers on its killer premise. Unsettling and so, so entertaining. The perfect thriller' Caz FrearEd finally meets his daughter's boyfriend for the first time. Smart, successful and handsome, Ryan appears to be a real catch. Then Abbie announces their plan to get married. Thank you to Bonnier UK Audio, Zaffre and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. Love makes us blind, it makes us to choose always wrong, forget our parents all these are going on with Abbie too. She too chooses Ryan over her dad without listening … Sadly for her one promise what all she or her family is losing …
