About this deal

One of my favorite variants on this gnome pattern, I made this little guy from a dark purple flannel for the body, then a linen cotton cheesecloth type material for the hat and arms. Take the other body piece and place it right side facing the other and pin or clip along the sides and the bottom (where the legs are stitched) and sew those 3 sides closed, reinforcing the beginning and ending stitching. This pattern uses a cup as the base and the printable hat pattern can be adjusted to fit any size. Fill it the cup or the hat with treats or a small gift for added fun. Mop Gnomes Free Patterns and Tutorials Gauge and Tension: Pay attention to your tension – consistent tension ensures that your stitches are even. Follow the recommended gauge in the pattern to ensure your gnome turns out the right size. Norwegian Nisse: My very favorite Gnome pattern. Now, I need to find an old sweater to make it this beautiful 🙂

I made this adorable little woodsman gnome using the same wrap-around beard style that I did on the shelf sitter gnome. Just looks like his body is made from the beard–it’s actually a charcoal felt.Cut out each pattern piece on regular paper or transfer it to sturdy cardboard, if desired. Or use the printed paper as your pattern. Crochet gnomes can be great patterns for beginners if they’re comfortable with basic crochet stitches and techniques. DIY Norwegian Holiday Gnomes: Ok, these are adorable. How many Gnomes are you making this holiday 🙂 Now we will work on the body. On your Body pattern, there are placement markings for the legs. Align the placements on the right side of one piece of the body fabric and using a fabric marker, mark those places. Pin each leg on the right side of the fabric, but with the feet pointed up. I made the hat along the general lines of the hat pattern, but I lengthened the hat’s point and gave it some thin flaps at the ears. Then I lined it with a little white faux fur. Made it seem a little more wintery. Then I added a twist to the tip of the hat by stuffing a twisted paper clip up in there and just kind of let it push the knit fabric into the twisted shape.

Practice Basic Stitches: Make sure you’re comfortable with basic crochet stitches like single crochet (sc), increase (inc), and decrease (dec) before attempting a gnome. Practice these stitches on small swatches if needed.

Tips to Make This Pattern for Gnomes (Felt and Fleece) Generally, I end up making my gnome noses from whatever is on hand. For this gnome project, I made gnome noses and hands from polymer clay but also use wood beads or rounds a lot.

Gender and Age Variations: Gnomes can be crafted to represent different genders and ages. You can make young gnomes with smaller bodies and shorter beards, or create female gnomes with feminine features and clothing. Gnomes are neat, but girl gnomes are absolutely adorable! This girl gnome pattern allows you to make a gnome that doesn’t have a beard, but two cute braids of hair instead, as well as the characteristic pointy hat, and a tiny nose. This girl gnome wears a miniature sweater with buttons and has a heart stitched onto its hat. You can also lay a pipe cleaner inside the arm before gluing, making the finished sleeve slightly adjustable.

Try using cozy sweaters of fabrics for the winter months. Add winter props, sleds, skis, and shovels.😁 Christmas Gnomes This holiday season, make holiday decor special with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and the cute little elves. The possibilities are endless. Valentine Gnomes note that the hat template was too tall to fit on one sheet of paper, so you need to tape it together where indicated. Most of the gnomes on the list so far were miniature, now here’s one that’s a bit bigger, the cone gnome! This gnome is cone-shaped and about as large as your forearm, so it’s a nice decoration for your room corners and shelves. Its appearance is a lot like all the other gnomes but a big difference here is that this guy has cute little eyes that aren’t covered by the hat! Add or subtract length to the gnome hat to make a taller or shorter hat. For example, if you want a shorter hat, try cutting your felt into a 5 by 7 inches (13 cm × 18 cm) cone.
