For such a potentially dangerous activity, your gear needs to have certifications, ensuring that the carabiner will be strong enough to hold your weight or more in the event of a mishap. On the spine of every certified carabiner, there will be a CE and/or UIAA icon. The Outdoor Element Firebiner Carabiner Multi Tool caught my eye as a gadget that resonates with my love for hiking and camping. As someone who’s always on the lookout for compact and multifunctional tools, this one seemed like a promising companion for my outdoor adventures. It works great as a bottle opener but is honestly too small to use for attaching other items to the Curve. It’s fine for clipping on a keychain but we found it a bit of a struggle to put the Curve on a belt loop or bag strap. All in all a great little tool, but without most of the functionality of a quality carabiner. Best Multi Tool with Carabiner
We wish the main blade were not serrated. Yes, a serrated edge cuts a few things a little better than a straight edge. But that serrated edge suffers or completely fails to cut other things, especially when it is dulled. Once dull, a serrated edge is more difficult to sharpen, whereas the included sharpener on the Signal could be used to resurface an entirely straight-edged blade. The inclusion of a serrated portion on the blade seems like a marketing move more than a practical one. The Signal is unique and functional. It isn't too huge or too clumsy to use. With it, Leatherman comes another step closer to abandoning their proprietary bit driver interface. They built in the expected "squashed" bit driver, but they also included a standard 1/4 inch drive bit holder. We like this. The standard bit holder isn't oriented in an ideal fashion, but it is better than nothing. For survivalists looking for a multi-tool designed with bushcraft in mind, while also functional around the home, the Signal is a great piece of gear to add to the kit. With regards to the tools, there’s 12. While many of these will be of no use to some people, most will find many of them handy. Even if you’ve got no use for the seven different hex wrench sizes, you’ll probably have flat head and Phillips head screws that you need to install or tighten from time to time. We’re almost 100% sure you’ll find a use for that bottle opener too.

Jeff's busy outdoor lifestyle requires having the right tool for the job, whether that's repairing ski gear or mountain bike components in the field or doing repairs, or slicing food at home.The best multi tool with carabiner is kind of hard to choose. The category doesn’t lend itself well to standardized tools and there are more versions of different tools than we can count. That being said, there were two clear winners from the tools we reviewed. Probably its most unique feature is its magnetic bit driver, which folds down inside the non-gate-side spine of the device when not in use. Once flipped out into action, that driver accepts third-party 5/32nd and 1/4-inch bits, along with special Leatherman-specific bits. It should be noted, however, that those bits will have to be stored and carried separately. Glass breaker: A glass breaker might seem like a quaint addition to a multi-tool until you need to get out of a sinking car through the windows. Portability: Aside from the weight and size of the item, its portability is essential. It would help if you thought about whether the tool is easy to carry. Does it come with a clip? Does it have a holster or another way to attach to your gear? And it would be best if you considered whether the multi-tool is helpful for your everyday carry based on what it can do.
