Two tablets dissolved in half a glass (100ml) of water may be taken every 4 hours as required. You shouldnot take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Although clinical and epidemiological evidence suggests the safety of acetylsalicylic acid for use in pregnancy, caution should be exercised when administered to pregnant patients. Acetylsalicylate is hydrolysed to its active primary metabolite salicylic acid and completely excreted in the urine, principally as glucoronic acid and glycine conjugates of salicylic acid, but also as salicylic acid itself. Salicylates are extensively bound to plasma proteins. Peak plasma levels occur at approximately 20 minutes. Following administration of acetylsalicylic acid, salicylic acid can be detected in breast milk, cerebral spinal fluid and synovial fluid. The substance crosses the placenta. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because ofthe risk of delayed, serious liver damage. You should ask your doctor before taking aspirin if you are taking any other medicines including those for blood clots (thrombosis) such as warfarin or gout such as probenecid. When aspirin has been taken regularly or high doses have been taken then breast-feeding should be discontinued early.
