For those who do not know Moosehead, it is an Australian grooming brand, Moosehead makes hair and grooming products for the urban guy: easy to use, holds for all hair types, and great aromas. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to their Elders past and present. Both are worked into damp or dry hair by applying just a small amount to the palms and swerve that unfashionably nineties wet-look that hair gel can create. Perhaps you’re feeling sentimental and want to tap back into childhood memories or perhaps you want to create new ones with an ode to the past.

The gritty styling clay comes in an orange lidded pot with five black dots, indicating maximum hold. Made with real pumice giving it a grainy texture to help create a defined, chunky look, I wondered how this would look when applied. This product contains bits of grits that help to hold the hair firm, personally I haven’t seen those grits in my hair and this is great because it could look like dandruff.Only you will know if it’ll be the perfect present for an older Dad or Grandad, or a younger hipster riding the vintage bandwagon. You know that I spoke before about the smell of the products and without trying them, the Moosehead products conquered me. With a blue lid and a fresh smell, this product is perfect for those messy styles and recommended for medium and long hair. Both the styling clay and the shaping dough are true to the saying ‘less is more’, making them fantastic value for money. The company was started about 10 years ago in Melbourne, Australia when they realised that there was no real product aimed/targeted towards the 'urban guy'.

Marked a 4 out of 5 in the holding stakes, the red potted shaping dough, like the clay (despite being rated slightly lower) held my man’s style for the duration.

You don’t have to use a great deal of it to be effective so it’s not going to be hard on the wallet either. If you’re only looking to keep small amounts of hair in place then this is probably the product for you.
