About this deal

There was an issue with the colour green which I fixed through a firmware update (currently M2B102). Firstly, an HDR10 signal is only supported via HDMI, as both of the DisplayPorts are of the older 1. To start with, the Dell P2715Q monitor is based on an IPS panel, which ensures precise and consistent color reproduction. Dell Technologies raadt aan om deze update te bekijken om te bepalen of deze van toepassing is op uw systeem.

In addition I have installed the DELL Display Manager software and have also ensured the driver for the U2718Q has also been installed. Competing standards have served to muddy the HDR waters, and though the technology is beginning to prove its worth in the latest high-end TVs and projectors, PC monitor manufacturers have been slow to react. In comparison to the Dell P2715Q, the Dell U2718Q has more accurate color calibration (Delta E < 2) and support for HDR (High Dynamic Range). per cent sRGB coverage to an accuracy of Delta-E less than two, meaning out-the-box colours should be reasonably true to life. I can be set to HDR with my PS4 but when connected to Windows, the display setting page didn't show up HDR options. However, there is still no option in Windows 10 Settings -> System -> Display to enable HDR and a dxdiag detects the U2718Q as not supporting HDR - see dxdiag output here and this Windows 10 HDR troubleshooter from Microsoft which details what dxdiag should be reporting if HDR support has been detected. For a noticeable improvement in the image quality, an HDR monitor should be able to deliver at least a 400-nit peak brightness (preferably 600 or 1,000) and cover at least 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

viewing angles provide excellent visibility from any direction, an anti-glare hard coating keeps reflections to a minimum, and each and every U2718Q is factory calibrated at 99. The Netflix app on Xbox One S supports HDR, the PC app doesn't, and though availability is certain to improve over time, finding meaningful HDR content currently feels like a chore. There are numerous acronyms and buzzwords to get to grips with, including 4K, 5K, UHD, FreeSync and G-Sync, to name but a few, and you can now add HDR to the list. In case you want a 4K monitor, but don’t need professional-grade color accuracy, you should check out our ASUS VG289Q review.make sure your GFX card (965m) supports HDR and make sure HDR is enabled in the Monitor menu that you manage with your fingers (bottom right). While theDell U2718Q monitor can accept the HDR10 signal, it lacks proper display capabilities to actually improve the viewing experience.

I have the same monitor setup as you (legacy 2709W and shiny new U2718Q) but I'm running on a GTX 970 desktop graphics adapter. Activate HDR and the majority of Windows 10 content, which happens to be SDR, looks nothing short of frightful. In the OSD (On-Screen Display), you will find the following settings: contrast, brightness, aspect ratio, sharpness, color format, color temperature, input source selection, RGB, hue, and saturation. The Dell U2718Q is a solid 27" 4K IPS monitor for color editing and professional work, but it lacks certain display capabilities for a decent HDR image. Lifelike visuals: Supports HDR content playback with striking depth, captivating your attention and giving each job a gorgeous finish.
